2026 CHEERLEADING SEASON

The Cheerleading Program of KCFC is offered to youth in kindergarten through 8th grade. Squads are formed by high school area and cheer for fall football teams. Games are played at Heritage Park Football Complex, school district and private facilities in Johnson County (KS) school districts and fields at other locations (Kearney, Liberty, Liberty North, Platte County, RayPec, Smithville and Savannah), as available.  Some squads also cheer for winter basketball teams in GABL or other basketball leagues.  KCFC is a rec program, but squads are given the opportunity to participate in the annual Cheer and Dance Showcase and Competition.

On-line registration will be available March 1 through June 1.  Anyone registering after June 1 will be accepted only based on availability on squads after the deadline - so don't delay in registering so that you can ensure your place on a squad! Earlier registration also allows you to be involved in fundraising opportunities to help offset uniform and other additional costs.  Payment of the registration fee will be required at the time the athlete is registered. If applying for KCFC registration financial assistance, the scholarship application must be completed before registering in order to apply the scholarship credit before paying the registration fee balance.

Junior Cheerleading Program is available to youth who will be in Kindergarten through 3rd grade in the coming school year.

The "Senior" Cheerleading Program is available to 4th through 8th graders. Many school districts only go through 6th grade -- Blue Valley goes through 7th grade and Shawnee Mission goes through 8th grade.

New or used uniforms must be purchased by the parent/guardian. Cost for uniforms vary, depending on the high school area. Information on uniforms is available through your coach or area director. The basic uniform includes skirt, briefs and top. There is an additional cost for accessories.

Fundraising opportunities are determined by each high school area. Some individual squads also do fundraising for specific activities.

The success of this program depends on quality adult leadership and participation. The support and involvement of parents whose children take part in the program is critical to its success. Coaches, assistant coaches and squad assistants are always needed. If you can help your squad, please contact your cheerleading area director.
