Cheer Coaches
CHEERLEADING COACH APPLICATIONS
All individuals interested in serving as head or assistant coach in the cheerleading program must complete a Volunteer Application each year during registration. Background checks are conducted on all coaches, head and assistant, on an annual basis.
To register to coach, please complete a volunteer application while completing your child's registration.
If you do not have a child participating, but would like to coach, please create an account on our website in order to complete a volunteer application.

CHEER COACH CERTIFICATION
Attendance is mandatory for all approved cheerleading coaches and assistant coaches at the coach's meetings conducted by the Area Director, as well as one applicable Coach's Instructional Seminars annually. Failure to attend meetings and seminars will result in loss of coaching privileges. Please contact your area director for more information.

Saturday, May 16 - 9am-1pm (Westridge Middle School Cafeteria, 9300 Nieman Rd., Overland Park KS)
Saturday, June 20 - 9am-1pm (northland location TBA)
Saturday, July 11 - 9am-1pm (Pleasant Ridge Middle School Commons, 9000 W. 165th St., Overland Park KS)
Saturday, August 1 - 9am-1pm (Westridge Middle School Cafeteria, 9300 Nieman Rd., Overland Park KS)
YOUTH SQUAD ASSISTANTS
Youth Squad Assistants are students and must complete an application. The head coach may assign someone at the seventh grade level or above to be the Youth Squad Assistant to help with teaching cheers, etc. The youth squad assistant must fill out an application. The youth squad assistant is not left alone with the squad. Her job is not to discipline the cheerleaders, only to assist the coach and assistant coach in teaching material to the cheerleaders. Youth squad assistants are not required to attend a Coach’s Instructional Seminar, but are encouraged to do so.
