REGISTRATION FOR OUR 2026 FALL FLAG SEASON OPENS MAY 1ST

The fall flag program is for incoming Kindergartners through 8th grade. Teams of individual sign-ups are formed by high school area as registrations allow, or full teams may register. If you are registering your child without requesting a coach, please be advised that we will do our best to place your child on a team, but cannot guarantee placement. Allocation of individual sign-ups (those without requested coach) will begin in mid-July.

In Kindergarten through 1st grades, a participation award will be given to each player on all participating teams. In 2nd and 3rd grades, a team trophy and individual trophies for each player will be awarded for the first-place team and second-place team in each division. 4th through 8th grade teams receive awards for postseason tournament 1st and 2nd place finishes.

Practices may begin July 29 - practice schedules are determined by coaches (as it relates to day, time and location).  Games are played on Saturdays and Sundays beginning in mid August (date to be determined) for an 8-game season (8 game regular season for K-3 and 6 regular season games and 2 postseason tournament games for grades 4-8), concluding in October.  No flag games are played Labor Day weekend. Games will be played at Heritage Park and at Shawnee Mission School District facilities. Teams in the Shawnee Mission district, or close proximity, will not be able to have all games scheduled at the SMSD facility -- some games will still be played at Heritage Park.

Registration opens May 1 and the deadline is July 17.

The registration fee includes t-shirt and flag/belt.

KCFC does not provide practice time -- practices days, times and locations are determined by each coach and the financial responsibility of each team/coach.

Game Ball Information - K-3rd use PeeWee size; 4th-6th grades use Junior size, and 7th-8th use Youth/Intermediate size.  All must be brown and either leather or leather composite material.

Please fill out a Volunteer Application during your child's registration to receive more information on coaching a Flag Football team. Contact us at info@kcfootballcheer.org or by phone at 913-831-6000 if you need any assistance in this process.

All coaches must complete the on-line volunteer application in order for a background check to be conducted.

Every flag team must have representation at the Flag Coaches Orientation/Development Clinic (preferably head coach, but an assistant is acceptable).  The meeting is planned for Tuesday evening, July 28. Time and location to be announced.

Coaches must complete the above requirements in order to receive a coach pass.  Coach passes are required to be on the sideline.

Head Coaches may fill out a schedule request on dates with conflicts when the form is available.

Requests for Shawnee Mission rentals must go through the KCFC office -- email practice@kcfootballcheer.org.

Outdoor rentals in the Olathe School District are on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Indoor rental requests should email practice@kcfootballcheer.org.
